Professional anchoring

he FPLSE is particularly concerned with the quality of the professionals it trains. To this end, it :
- meet Belgian and European requirements for the training of psychologists, speech therapists and educationalists;
- to train competent professionals who can respond to the needs of society and its evolution, and bring a critical eye to bear.
In concrete terms, this means :
- the use of competency frameworks to guide the training program;
- the involvement of professionals in the curriculum;
- keeping abreast of changes in legislation and job opportunities;
- emphasis on continuing education for students.
To bear the TITLE of psychologist, the law requires a Master's degree in Psychological Sciences and registration with the Belgian Commission of Psychologists.
To be able to PRACTICE as a clinical psychologist, the law requires that, after obtaining a Master's degree in clinical psychology, the psychologist undergoes a one-year professional internship at an accredited training center.
