A university degree in psychology is the only qualification that guarantees access to the profession.

The Psychology program at ULiège complies with the law protecting the title of Psychologist (law of November 8, 1993), which requires a master's degree in Psychology from a Belgian university in order to use the title of Psychologist.

Psychology training is organized into two cycles: a bachelor's degree (180 credits) and a master's degree (120 credits). Some students go on to pursue a doctorate, which prepares them for a career in research.

The bachelor's degree in Psychological Sciences, general orientation provides students with rigorous scientific training through cross-disciplinary courses in statistics, research methodology, and psychometrics, while introducing them to various psychological and related subjects (philosophy, biology, physiology). Students will develop their critical thinking skills while discovering the discipline in all its diversity, including through active participation in scientific work in the field. Some courses are common to the bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy.

The master's degreeoffers a unique focus that allows you to specialize in three specific areas of psychology: clinical psychology, social, occupational, and organizational psychology, and cognitive neuroscience and experimental psychology, through a wide range of options that will allow you to become versatile.

Only a university program meets these requirements. The quality of the teaching approach is based on several pillars:

  • taking into account the complexity of situations in which psychologists intervene;
  • rigorous theoretical foundations;
  • compliance with an ethical framework corresponding to the Belgian Code of Ethics;
  • the importance of continuing education.
