In

order to ensure a smooth transition from your studies to the world of work and equip you with a high level of professional competence as a speech-language pathologist, you will develop five skills during your training:

Prevention

Take responsibility for prevention in the field of disorders within the speech-language pathologist's scope of practice by providing clear and comprehensive information on the risk factors associated with certain disorders and by detecting disorders as early as possible.

Assess

Assess a patient by taking a holistic approach and taking into account the initial complaint as well as medical indications and prescriptions.

Treat

Treat a patient with a disorder within the scope of a speech-language pathologist's practice, taking into account personal factors and environmental aspects that may influence treatment, as well as the comorbidity of disorders and their etiology.

Establish a professional relationship

Establish a professional relationship by creating and maintaining a relationship of trust and communicating appropriately.

Develop expertise

Develop the expertise required for high-quality speech therapy practice in the service of patients and society by engaging in continuing education and professional development and demonstrating professional ethics.
